Today, I had a great day. One of the teachers took me to see the local Bangkok floating market. It's not THE Floating Market, just a small, local one. It was pretty nice. I really enjoyed sitting there and chatting to my teacher. She was such a nice person to hang out with.
Some photo's of the little floating market.

After that, we went to visit the Thai Human Imagery Museum. It's actually a wax museum and OMG, it's AWESOME!!! In fact, several wax statues looked so real that you could mistake them for real people!! In my opinion, it was better than Madame Tusseau's in London. On the first floor, you had loads of wax statues of famous Buddhist monks. On the second floor, you had wax statues of Thai artists, kid's games and how King Rama V abolished slavery in Thailand.

Both my teacher and I thought she was real at first.

Check out the detail on his face!! It's amazing.

Doesn't he look so real? Sometimes I really felt like poking them just to make sure they were really statues.

Oh, look two visitors napping .......... oh wait, they're not real!!

Here's a fun game : Guess which ones are real and which ones are not. Answer is at the end of the entry.

The eight kings of Thailand. Present King Rama IV is not included.

The mother of Rama IV. She passed away in 1995.

A famous Thai composer. Forgot his name >_<
Statues of children playing Thai games.

These figures are from a famous Thai play/fantasy story called Phra Abhaimani.

Here is the wax statue and a short biography of the writer of that play : Sunthorn Phu

Here are some photo's of the slaves' conditions before slavery was abolished. Again, I was impressed at how real they looked. Just look at the details on their bodies, faces and clothing.

This slave got a harsh beating on his back.

Free, happy people who aren't slaves anymore.
And finally, this happy family fooled me. From afar, I thought they were real but they're not.

(Answer : The only guy who's real is the one pointing at the chessboard. The other three men are made of wax. )
After eating lunch at 2-3 pm, I said goodbye to my teacher and visited the Bangkok Dolls Museum. It was a tiny little museum that makes Thai dolls. I bought one of a Thai dancer. I think that she looks lovely. She'll be the last souvenir that I buy for myself. I already got quite a bunch of souvenirs for myself.
To finish my day, I got a 2 hour massage at the hotel. Good heavens, it feels good. I really enjoyed it. Luckily, it wasn't as painful as last time :)
Tomorrow, I'm going sightseeing with Ging. She's going to take me to a few nearby temples such as Wat Saket. Wheeeeeeeeee!!! See you all tomorrow with another exciting update (unless I'm too exhausted to come online).
